EXPERIENCE

Following the completion of a BA degree and a two-year MA in the conservation of cultural heritage, Luz Vanasco undertook three years of postgraduate training at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. During this period, she specialised in the conservation of easel paintings, as well as in the technical examination and study of painting materials and techniques.

For the past three years, she has worked as a Paintings Conservator at the Tate Gallery in London, where she carried out conservation treatments on paintings ranging from the 16th century to the present day. 

In the UK, she has also worked at the Guildhall Art Gallery, the Courtauld Gallery, and the Palace of Westminster and collaborated with several private conservation studios.

 

In Spain, she was a fellow at the Reina Sofía Museum and for four years she was a paintings conservator at the National History Museum of Argentina.

Earlier in her career, she also worked at the National Centre for Conservation and Restoration in Chile and at the Museo de El Carmen in Mexico. 

She has been awarded multiple grants and actively participates in the international conservation community, ensuring continued engagement with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in the field.
